BIG PETE'S TREATS

Purple Line Media was challenged to create a new packaging system and brand identity for Big Pete's Treats. The Big Pete's Brand has been around for several years and was recognizable by the Pete character and his rastafarian t-shirt. The packaging consisted of stickered bags and take-out containers.

Our mission was to give Big Pete's a modern, adult look/feel while still retaining an element of fun. We moved the packaging to printed mylar bags and containers and created a cohesive color system to differentiate indica from sative. We also created a color system for the various cookie flavors. The pattern in the background of the bags contains the shaka sign, a fun throwback to Big Pete's Hawaiian roots.

Purple Line Media also created a Consumer advertisement that was run in the April issue of Culture magazine to communicate the new packaging. We had the Pete character make the packaging announcement in the ad so Consumers would make the connection to the previous packaging.

After the redesign, Big Pete's was featured in High Times as one of the 21 Cannabis Brand to Watch.
